YouTube channel i1Tesla has shared a couple of videos detailing how he was able to make his Tesla Model Y “off-road” ready for potential overlanding adventures.
The Model Y also gains a cool-looking vinyl wrap in ‘rugged combat green’, while sits on A/T III Toyo tires in 255/55/19 dimensions. Overall, the Model Y has about 9-inches of ground clearance (versus the stock 6.6-inches) and tires were at 30 PSI to allow for better travel up some gravel roads and hills.
As you can see from the two videos above, i1Tesla details the Model Y heading up some steep gravel terrain, while another video shows some behind-the-scenes of how the mods came together. The Model Y isn’t exactly going off road, but the thicker tires look like it does help versus the super thin tires that come stock with 21-inch Uberturbine wheels on the Performance Upgrade Package.
What do you think? Do you like a lifted Model Y or do you like the lowered look?
