In this week’s Tesla Model Y tutorial we’ll take a closer look at the vehicle’s wipers and washers. With a range of options available to drivers, it’s helpful to know how to maximize these controls in the Model Y. The tutorial syncs up with the Tesla Model Y Owner’s Manual, starting on page 67.
Let’s begin with the vehicle’s wipers.
To make a single wipe of the windshield:
Press and immediately release the button on the left stand of the steering column lever.
To use different continuous wiper settings:
Navigate the vehicle’s touchscreen
Select ‘Cards’
Select the wipers card to examine current settings and make adjustments
The wipers card allows you to choose from 4 main settings: intermittent, slow, intermittent, fast, continuous, slow, and continuous, fast.
Note: there is an additional AUTO mode available to drivers. In this wiper mode, Model Y detects whether or not it is raining outside the vehicle. When the vehicle detects liquid on the windshield, it adjusts the level of the wipers automatically.
To use the Tesla Model Y washers:
Press and hold the button at the end of the left-hand steering column
When the vehicle sprays washer fluid, the wipers engage automatically
The vehicle performs three additional wipes after the washers are activated
