Those keeping up on Tesla’s Full Self-Driving options shouldn’t be too surprised by the price increase. The company has consistently raised the price for the feature over the past few years. Plus, the price upgrade includes some advanced features. Full Self-Driving features use comprehensive software updates to deliver greater real-time response from the Tesla vehicle. Plus, the features make use of precise camera movements and detection systems both inside and outside the vehicle.
In the same thread on Twitter, Musk continued to highlight some of the benefits of the system. He even suggested that the value of the Full Self-Driving option far outweighed the price increase. “The FSD price will continue to rise as the software gets closer to full self-driving capability with regulatory approval. It that point, the value of FSD is probably somewhere in excess of $100,000.” The price of the option increased in August of 2019, and Musk’s tweet suggests that regular price increases are to be expected.
