Tesla to ‘Probably’ Increase Full Self-Driving Package Price on July 1: Musk
There’s no doubt that Tesla’s full self-driving package offers immense benefits to drivers. Anyone looking for a comprehensive response and convenience features would be wise to look into the electric vehicle manufacturer’s self-driving system. However, it looks as though Tesla plans to increase the price of its full self-driving package in the near future.
On Friday, April 3rd, 2020 Elon Musk confirmed the upcoming price change in a tweet. He replied to a question about the FSD price increase stating, “Yeah, probably July 1st.”
Yeah, probably July 1st

What factors are responsible for the increase in price? For one, the company insists on using cameras and software to iterate its self-driving system. While these options may provide a more complete experience, they also cost more than other options on the market. This commitment to excellence may be part of the reason consumers can expect to pay a bit more for the full self-driving package.
It’s important to note that the full self-driving package already came with a higher price point. When adding the features onto any Tesla vehicle, users were asked to pay an additional $7,000 USD or $9815 CAD. While the price of the service has changed a few times, it remains unclear as to what customers may be expected to pay going forward.
Of course, the increase in price comes with some improved benefits too. For one, the full self-driving package includes exceptional Tesla Autopilot features. Stop sign detection reflects one such upgrade, and is expected to see release in the coming weeks.
