The Tesla Model Y has received positive reviews from all kinds of drivers. Due to spacious storage and seating, high performance, and impressive range, the new electric vehicle continues to impress. But just how well does the Model Y stack up against the Model 3 in terms of power?
In a new video from DragTimes, viewers get a comprehensive comparison of the power difference between the electric vehicles. Both cars used in the video are the Performance models. Measurements tracked include battery power, battery voltage, torque, and more. As stats from the new Model Y indicate, the battery pack is the same size as the one found in the Model 3. This may have some influence on the overall power rankings of the two vehicles. Even so, the numbers across the board favor the Model Y here in all measured categories.
There is some speculation regarding the reasons behind the Model Y’s extra power. As the video suggests, perhaps the engine in the Model Y was outfitted to compensate for the vehicle’s additional weight. Places like the wheels, especially, contribute to some extra weight on the new Model Y. Even though the Model 3 offers a leaner design, the Model Y still manages to hold more power.
