Tesla Hits Milestones with Shanghai Exports, Powerwall Installs

Tesla announced two major milestones this week, highlighting its global production and energy storage expansion.
Tesla Asia stated on September 18 that Giga Shanghai has exported its 1 millionth vehicle. The announcement, shared via the company’s social media channel, marked a significant achievement for the facility, which began operations in 2019. “Thanks to all Tesla owners and supporters!” Tesla Asia said in the post. A picture was shared of a cargo ship with Tesla vehicles parked to outline “1M”, to signify 1 million.

Separately, Tesla Energy announced on Monday that 750,000 Powerwalls have been installed worldwide. Powerwalls are the company’s home energy storage product designed to store electricity for backup power and self-consumption.
Tesla is set to announce its Q3 delivery numbers on Wednesday, ahead of its highly anticipated “We, Robot” special event on October 10, 2024.
