Starlink Mini Dish Price Drops to $299 in U.S., $399 in Canada

SpaceX has revived its $299 USD deal for the Starlink Mini, discounting the compact satellite dish by $200 in the United States. A similar offer is also available in Canada, where customers can pick up the Starlink Mini for $399 CAD, down from the regular $599 CAD price.

The Starlink Mini is designed for portability, with hardware small enough to fit inside a backpack. Unlike the standard Starlink dish, the Mini has a built-in Wi-Fi router and even comes with a kickstand. The trade-off is slower speeds and the requirement of a Starlink Roam plan, which starts at $50 USD ($70 CAD) per month for 50GB of data. For more demanding users, there’s also a $165 USD ($189 CAD) per month tier with unlimited data.

The discounted hardware is available directly from the Starlink website. According to a post on the RedFlagDeals forums, Best Buy also has the Starlink Mini dish listed at $399 CAD in Canada, although other third-party retailers don’t appear to be offering the same deal.

This isn’t the first time SpaceX has dropped the Mini’s price. Earlier this year, the company offered the same $299 deal for U.S. customers through the end of May. It remains unclear how long the latest promotion will last, but it may be part of an effort to clear inventory ahead of a potential new Starlink Mini successor.

The Starlink Mini discount follows a wave of price cuts across the company’s hardware and plans. Last month, SpaceX slashed the price of its Standard dish to its lowest ever in the U.S. — just $89 USD — and $249 CAD in Canada, alongside reduced Residential plan rates. Starlink also discounted Roam plans in Canada for the first six months, making the 50GB plan available for as little as $39 CAD per month.

However, not all changes have been welcomed. Earlier this summer, SpaceX replaced the free Pause feature with a new $5 USD ($7 CAD) per month “Standby Mode.” While the option lets customers keep their plan active and access unlimited low-speed data when not traveling, it represents a shift away from one of the Mini’s most attractive features for seasonal users.

Meanwhile, in Australia, SpaceX has recently been offering longtime Residential plan subscribers a free Starlink Mini dish along with 50% off Roam plans, further underscoring the company’s push to expand adoption of its portable service globally.

At $299 USD ($399 CAD), the Starlink Mini is once again the most affordable way to get SpaceX’s portable satellite internet hardware. The question is how long this deal will stick around.
