Waymo on Wednesday announced the launch of Waymo for Business, a new program designed to bring its fully autonomous ride-hailing service directly to organizations. After piloting with a range of companies, schools, and event organizers, Waymo is now expanding its offering to help more groups streamline their transportation needs.
Waymo for Business is available in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Phoenix. The company already completes over a million trips every month, with nearly one in six riders relying on Waymo to get to work or school. Waymo says its around-the-clock reliability makes it a trusted option for shift workers, students, and healthcare staff alike — and with Waymo for Business, the same convenience will now extend to organizational partnerships.
As part of the announcement, Andrea Appiagyei, who leads Strategic Partnerships at Carvana, said:
“We are proud to provide Waymo rides for both employees and guests of our hosted events. We’re committed to safety and sustainability, which makes Waymo a natural fit for business travel. When we host events, attendees love the premium and personal experience of an autonomous ride.”
Waymo for Business offers enterprise-grade tools, including a dedicated business portal, customizable promo codes for events, and reporting features to monitor rides and budgets. The company notes that beyond convenience, its all-electric fleet helps organizations advance their sustainability goals while showcasing cutting-edge innovation.
The launch follows a busy stretch for the Alphabet-owned company. Just last month, Waymo introduced an advance booking feature for riders, making it easier to schedule autonomous trips ahead of time. The company also recently became the first approved operator for autonomous vehicle testing in New York City and began testing robotaxis in Denver. What’s more, Waymo plans to launch a commercial service in Dallas sometime next year.
While still in the early stages, Waymo says it’s committed to evolving its business offerings to better support organizations of all sizes, from employers and universities to event hosts looking for a premium mobility option.
