Starlink Canada Promo: $249 Standard Dish and Lower Residential Plan Prices

Starlink is slashing hardware and subscription prices in Canada, offering one of its steepest discounts yet as it looks to grow its already fast-expanding subscriber base north of the border.

The SpaceX-owned satellite internet provider is now selling its Standard Kit for $249 CAD (was $599, a $350 discount), per an email sent to Canadians. Alongside the dish price cut, Starlink is also offering discounted Residential plans for the first year in select regions: the standard Residential plan is now $115 CAD/month (down from $140), while Residential Lite is $90 CAD/month (down from $110). After the first year, regular rates resume. The Standard Kit discount is also available via Best Buy.

This follows a similar promotion launched earlier this month in the U.S., which halved the cost of the dish nationwide and introduced discounted monthly plans for new customers. In Canada, the move comes as Starlink’s user base surpassed 500,000 subscribers last month, and it appears SpaceX is aiming to accelerate growth further in areas with excess capacity.

Designed for durability, Starlink dishes are built to withstand Canada’s harshest weather conditions. The latest generation kits can melt snow, endure up to 160+ kph winds, and operate in temperatures from -40°C to 43°C. Starlink says its network maintains 99.9% average uptime, even during heavy rain, snow, and natural disasters.

“Like many rural families, our biggest frustration was internet access… That changed when we switched to Starlink,” said Rose L. from Minesing, Ontario, in a customer testimonial highlighting reliability during snowstorms and thunderstorms.

Starlink recently introduced “Standby Mode” for paused plans in both Canada and the U.S., giving users the option to maintain unlimited, low-speed connectivity, perfect for emergency communications or software updates, for a small monthly fee.

With promotions like this, Starlink is continuing to position itself as a weather-resilient and high-speed solution for rural Canadians — and a strong alternative where traditional internet infrastructure falls short. Click here to order your Starlink dish today.
