Tesla is Advertising on Facebook, Instagram, Cars.com
Back in March 2018, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk deleted the Facebook pages of both companies, which about about 2.6 million followers each.
Fast forward six years, and now Tesla is advertising on Facebook, plus Instagram, the sister company of the latter.
According to ads seen on the web and shared by @SawyerMerritt, we see Tesla taking advantage of Meta’s ad network across its social media apps.
We see Tesla North America advertising the Model Y on Facebook, plus the Tesla Motors account on Instagram also pushing an ad campaign. Meta’s ad network allows for extreme and powerful targeting of users, results can be measured based on clickthroughs, moreso than regular advertising with traditional print or digital media.
Tesla is also advertising on Cars.com, showcasing the Model Y on the front page. The Model Y was the best-selling car globally in 2023, leading gas and electric vehicles.
Here’s Tesla’s Facebook ads:

Tesla typically relies on word of mouth advertising but the company has been testing out ads, after many shareholders asked them to try them out. Musk said last year advertising at “larger scale” was coming soon. Maybe one day we’ll see an epic Tesla Super Bowl ad?
