Starlink Tops 2.3 Million Customers, Life-changing Stories Shared
SpaceX’s Starlink has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 2.3 million customers worldwide, announced the company on Thursday.
The service, now operational in over 70 countries, has expanded its reach to all seven continents and oceans, marking a new era in global connectivity.
Starlink’s website has introduced a new section dedicated to sharing stories from its diverse user base, which includes individuals, businesses, and various organizations. These stories highlight the innovative and everyday uses of Starlink, celebrating the impact of this technology in different parts of the world.
Recent launches have significantly contributed to Starlink’s expansion. Notable achievements include the service’s launch in Paraguay on December 21, making it the 70th country to gain access.
Other recent expansions include Eswatini, marking the 8th African country and 10th market on the continent to be covered by Starlink as of December 18. The service also commenced operations in Honduras on December 6, Costa Rica on November 28, Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands in the Western Pacific Ocean on November 21, the Maldives on November 9, and Benin on November 3.
SpaceX plans a Falcon 9 launch of 23 Starlink satellites from Cape Canaveral tonight on Friday, December 22, targeting 11:00 p.m. ET, with backup until 3:00 a.m. ET on December 23 and additional opportunities that night.
This will be a record 19th mission for this single Falcon 9 booster, and will be webcast live on X @SpaceX. Post-launch, the Falcon 9 booster will land on the “Just Read the Instructions” droneship in the Atlantic.
