SpaceX has announced a price reduction for its Starlink dish and modem equipment in Germany. The new deposit for the equipment has been lowered to €299, plus €23 for delivery, down from the previous €499, savings of 33%.
Despite the cut in equipment costs, the monthly subscription fee remains unchanged at €50.
Retailers Cyberport and Mediamarkt followed suit by lowering their Starlink kit prices as well with free shipping.
Starlink sent out emails to customers in Germany announcing the new price cut on the kit.
The move comes as SpaceX continues to expand its Starlink satellite internet service globally. The price reduction could make the service more accessible to German consumers, although it does not affect the ongoing monthly subscription costs.
On October 21, SpaceX had a back-to-back launch of Starlink satellites on the same day, sending up 44 total satellites to low-Earth orbit.
