Tesla today announced a record Q4 2022 and also provided more updates on its business, in particular on the total number of Autopilot customers that have Full Self-Driving (FSD) beta.
According to Tesla, it said, “we now have released FSD beta to nearly all customers in the US and Canada who bought FSD (approximately 400,000).”
“This is an important milestone for our company. Every customer in the US and Canada can now access FSD Beta functionality upon purchase/subscription and start experiencing the evolution of AI-powered autonomy.”
Elon Musk said during the Q4 earnings call he was with the Autopilot/AI team late last night and asked who was close to developing a general solution to self-driving, and they were unable to pick someone in second place. “You can’t see second place with a telescope. At least we can’t,” said Musk.
By the end of Q3, Tesla said there were 160,000 owners in North America that had access to FSD beta. In late December 2022, Tesla said it had reached 285,000 cars total with FSD beta.
