Tesla’s online store has launched a new Wireless Charging Platform, essentially a wireless charger for multiple devices.
The company says it is “inspired by the angular design and metallic styling of Cybertruck,” noting it provides 15W of fast charging power per device for up to three devices at the same time.
“Its sleek design is composed of an aluminum housing, premium alcantara surface and a detachable magnetic stand that allows you to lay the charger flat or at an angle for better viewing. Featuring FreePower technology, which charges your Qi capable devices such as phones or earbuds placed anywhere on its surface without precise alignment,” explains Tesla.
This same FreePower technology is used by accessory makers such as Nomad Goods. You can charge two iPhones and a set of Apple AirPods at the same time, for example. It reminds us of Apple’s shelved project, AirPower that never made it to market.
Inside box you will get:
- Wireless Charging Platform
- USB-C cable integrated with wireless charger
- 65W USB-C power adapter
- Magnetic detachable stand
Tesla says this accessory will begin shipping in February 2023, and it’s priced at a hefty $300 USD.
