The first episode of the series focuses on Lucid’s battery packs, and the technology behind them. Rawlinson talks us through Lucid’s battery pack — inside and out, complete with visuals of how the company integrates battery packs into its cars.
Rawlinson also goes on to explain how the battery packs used by Lucid work together with the rest of the chassis to enhance structural rigidity, improve handling, and provide an overall better driving experience.
Lucid is an electric vehicle (EV) startup with big plans in the pipeline. Back in November 2021, Rawlinson said the company could one day be valued like Tesla.
The automaker has a ways to go, though — as of February 28, 2022, Lucid has only delivered somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 cars. The company has also scaled back expected production for 2022 and delayed its Gravity e-SUV to 2024.
At the start of this year, Lucid Motors confirmed it would be launching in Europe this year. The company also expects to break ground on a new production plant in Saudi Arabia sometime during the first half of this year.
